Louisville Cardinals and Missouri Tigers record wins – NCAA Basketball December 2nd review
Louisville Cardinals Vs Vanderbilt Commodores 62-60:
What a treat, this game was for the fans.
Both teams displayed excellent skills on the court neither allowing the other to get on the top throughout the 40 minutes of normal play. The game eventually had to be decided in O.T.
5 minutes into the overtime and still there was nothing to distinguish between both teams, as scores were tied at 60 all and it looked like a second overtime would be needed to decide the winners, but just few seconds before the
buzzer rang, Cardinal’s Peyton Siva drilled a driving layup to seal the game for his team.
Kyle Kuric led the winning team with 15 points while Peyton Silva and Chane Behanan both accumulated 14 points. For Commodores, John Jenkins scored game high 27 points whereas Jeffery Taylor and Lance Goulbourne both finished with
11 points each.
Missouri Tigers Vs Northwestern Demons 90-56:
Missouri Tigers continued their winning streak and routed Northwestern Demons in a totally one sided affair.
The Demons apparently entered the game without any game plan. They were erratic with shooting, rotated players unnecessarily and displayed impoverished defence. On the other hand, Tigers were professional and exploiting the weak
defence of opponents, made early in roads to take the game miles away from them right from the start.
A 29-6 spurt by Tigers in the first 8 minutes set the tone for rest of the game.
Demons tried hard to get back in the game with their power players chipping in with quick points, however they failed to catch Tigers and found themselves trailing behind 26 points 57-31 by the end of first half.
A steep task laid ahead of Demons in the second half and they needed something special to pull off a win, but unfortunately for them, things got even worse as Tigers continued attacking with full throttle from the other end and
the lead reached 40 odd points in the first five minutes.
Demons gave up the fight at that point and their focused changed from winning the game to prevent an embarrassing defeat. But they failed to do that even an in the end lost by massive 34 points.
