Evgeny Lovchev has nullified the claims that FC Krasnodar and Krylia Sovetov Samara are involved in a match fixing scandal and has urged Anzhi Makhachkala to fight for European spot
Famous football pundit, Evgeny Lovchev, has urged CSKA Moscow to win the Russian Premier League title this season despite losing two precious points at Arena Khimki on Friday.
The Moscow-based club are still atop the league table with 56 points despite claiming a 0-0 draw against Dynamo Moscow on the away turf.
News in Russian media suggested that CSKA will fire Leonid Slutsky should he fails to win the league title this season, having failed to win it last time when his side were leapfrogged by Zenit St. Petersburg during the last round
of the Russian championship.
If speculations are to be believed, Yuri Krasnozhan, is thought to be interested in taking charge as their next manager come this summer.
Lovchev went on to back under-fire manager, Slutsky, insisting that the Koni should show some respect to their manager following the 41-year-old’s restless efforts this season.
Summarizing CSKA’s latest stalemate, Lovchev defended Slutsky’s decision to field Ahmed Musa up front. The Nigerian forward played as a lone striker following the disqualification and unfortunate injury to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vagner-c35793 Love and Seydou
Doumbia respectively.
“Slutsky lost two points, and got one. I think the team simply did not play to their potential. Now CSKA have a serious break. I think that Slutsky can guide the team in this difficult situation. He grew up as a coach but he needs
to understand that stability is more important at the moment. The team should not lose points against weaker opponents.” The Soviet Top League winner was quoted as saying.
Lovchev went on to discuss the match fixing scandal between
FC Krasnodar and Krylia Sovetov Samara.
“I do not think that this match-fixing. In my view, this meeting was held fairly. I did not like what the journalist said about the outcome of the meeting.” He concluded.
Predicting Anzhi Makhachkala’s chances of securing a European berth this season, the 64-year-old revealed that the Dagestani club are likely to finish third.
