Love is more powerful than hate?

I'm choosing this as a speech topic, and need some idea's to back up up this argument. Only answer if it is FOR not AGAINST this statement.

    As we can practically see what is going on around the world right now,hate is over powering love.

  3. Also talk about Harry Potter! His mother's love for him was much more powerful than the killing instincts born out of hatred, of 'he-who-shall-not-be-named'! His own love for his friends was a virtue that had powerful impact on evil!
