  1. It depends if he is going to use it for violence on the streets.

Or for his general fitness, or if he feels like he will suit it and be good at it.

Just have a chat with him, see if he is serious about it.

  2. yes..its his decision ..why not ?

    =]

  3. TO VIOLENT

  4. everyone had different hobby, and boxing is not that bad i think, let say if you like racing but i stop you for the reason i don't like, for me of course i think for you own good, but what do you think? i knew human always been selfish but sometime we have to see both side ok,

  5. definately. give them somethin to keep them outta trouble. it teaches unbelievable discipline physically and mentally. im just a kid so i dont have a son or anythin but i obviously am one and i no boxing made me less likely to pick fights cuz i didnt have anythin to prove. plus its the reason i dont drink or smoke or any bull like that.

  6. You've got to let a boy be a boy, if he wants to scrap, you gotta let him.

    ***Additional***

I never boxed, but I did spar quite a bit.  Never had the killer instinct to fight competitively.  I wasn't allowed to fight as a kid, which I believe hampered me, and also, I was so far behind guys who had trained since they were kids.

  7. Boxing is great for those who are good at it, but I wouldn't let my son box, but if that's what he wanted to do, I wouldn't stop him either.  I can't picture someone breaking his nose or beating him up, so it would be difficult being the parent of a boxer.  Obviously, if I'm supportive of his efforts, he'll understand how I feel and retire when he can take care of his family without boxing instead of waiting for an injury to retire him.

My son is currently in high school and I don't think he's even contemplating boxing, but if he were, that's how I feel.

  8. Yes I would let my son box because if you stop him he would use that energy somewhere else where we would not want him to be. More likely be in a gang. If you put him into a youth sports club that is organized and structured along with good supervision I think boxing would be good for him. If he use it for only for physical fitness and to learn to defend himself that should be no problem.
