Lovebird help, again....?

ok, to answer this question, please read my previous question below:

ok, i had 2 lutino peach faced lovebirds.the guy is honey, the girl is lemon. one day, the honey opened the cage door using his mouth, then ,lemon flew out. i couldent catch lemon cuz im short, so my father tried. lemon was very scared so she flew away.

it has been 2 days since lemon flew away. i have been giving honey etra attention.will he be ok?

if you live near holland grove road (near henry park primary school), please please tell me if have seen lemon. Thx

note: the birds were bought from a shop and have always been together.

my question now:

how long would honey live? cause he has been fine for about a week or so. will he continue live or die?

  2. I'm so sorry you lost your bird. But don't worry, just losing his mate isn't enough to make a bird die. After all, if that were the case then there wouldn't be any wild lovebirds, as every time a hawk picked one off its mate would die!

    Try to give Honey a little extra attention so he doesn't feel so lonely. If he doesn't have a mirror, you should be able to find one at your local pet store--even your grocery store's pet section should have a couple made specifically to fit on the inside of a bird cage. Honey will see his reflection in the mirror and think it's another bird, which will help a little too.
