Lovebird or Cockatiel

i want a bird that will cuddle and be very loving. which is better pet?

a lovebird by far they are great pets they can be tought to tail mine can say hello they just love being with people and are so cute when they cuddle into you   cockateils are very messy and lazy

By far the cockatiel would be a better choice, love birds tend to get mean alot of the time but I have never owned a cockatiel who turned on you for no reason like love birds will.

I had lovebirds for over 20 years--as the name implies--they are "lovebirds" so it would be hard not to have a pair-- because they are very lovey dovey and do produce offspring.  If you choose to just have one- get a male--but be prepared to give him a lot of attention...I now have a blue crown conure...a more intelligent species of bird and I have only one...he talks, cuddles and does tricks...he is like a child as he is a sponge for learning new things to say and do....I can't comment on cockatiels other than the fact that they do get "night fright" in which they flap around in their cage at night....do your research and make sure you find one suitable for your needs and his...by the way...conures live to be 60-75 years old...lovebirds/cockatiels maybe 12.

I , personally, prefer cockatiels. I actually own a few. Once trained, they do talk, play, whistle, and will sit on your shoulder and kiss you. Deciding on a bird is a very important step. You want a bird you can bond with, and will be compatible with all members of your family. But, to help you decide, here are a couple sites you can look at.

I have had a cockatiel and mine was cuddly and very very sweet. I would really reccomend you getting a cockatiel. They are lots of fun and can take showerd with you and can be taught to whistle tunes pretty easily. They also bond very easily to one person.
