Is there a way to tell a male from a female peach faced lovebird?

Yes there is a way to tell a male from a female but you have to know what you are looking for or feeling for. You can hold the bird gently in your hand on its back and feel for what feels like two little k***s. That would be your male. If you do that and your still not sure, take the birds to the vet and they will do it and be able to tell you.

Hello.

There is 2 ways to tell ...the female perches with her legs wider than the male ( so she can pass eggs later on ) . The other way , to touch her pelvic bone , if it is flexible ( to move the eggs ) then it should be a Her . Otherwise , by 4_6 months old , my lovebirds females would lay infertile eggs and my males are so active ...chattering and playful none stop . Hope this help. TM.
