My female lovebird crouches down like a arch and its rear(hole near the a**s) is showing and it opens and closes (where the p**p and urine comes out of and its makes a clicking sound. I don't know why it is doing this it usually does this when its on my hand or when i try to take it out of its cage.

  1. Maybe she is getting ready for breeding season. Since you are as she has determined her mate, she is doing what she would do if you were a male bird.   I would just try to detract her with some food, or a toy. It is perfectly natural.

  2. That is her breeding posture. She is acting like you are her mate. Just distract her from behavior with treats or a toy. Also don't pet her back and or let her feed you. Sometimes they will regurgitate food for you also. This is actually a compliment. She may lay eggs anyway even without a male. If so they will not be fertile so not to worry. Just let her lay on them until she loses interest in them. Just make sure if she does lay eggs that you give her plenty of calcium supplement so she does not become calcium deficient as this can be life threatning. give cuttle bone and oyster shell ground up. Or boil eggs and leave shell on and chop up for her. Also make sure you watch that she does not get eggbound. That is where the egg does not pass and gets stuck. She would be fluffed up sitting on bottom of cage not eating well and maybe panting if this happens take to vet asap and keep warm and humid until get her there. These things may not happen but just pointers to keep in mind in case they do. That area you are talking about is called the cloachea or the vent. It is a single hole with many functions. :) Used for potty, mating, and egg laying.

  3. Your female love bird has reached maturity and her hormones are telling her it is time to look for a mate. She is showing you and all male birds that may be around that she is looking for a husband. If she cannot find a mate she will satisfy herself on a perch or toy and you may find non fertile eggs in her cage. If eggs are present do not remove until she shows no more interest in them. To alleviate this problem avoid petting your bird below the neck because this stimulates her desire to mate. If you want her to mate get her a boy friend. Good luck !
