  1. My sister amnio fluid was leaking you have to just think the less I do Psyically the longer my baby can stay in there you want at least 2 more weeks .. talk to your dr. about a shot that will speed up the babys lungs in case the tear spreads

  2. Your doctor and technicians do not want to worry you, and you must remain very calm and relaxed.  Think of the best scenario possible, and of a perfect baby and a good life.

However, if you had a leak, it may be preferable to having no leak, except that you would be susceptable to infection yourself through a uterine tear.

For baby, too little fluid can mean a tangle with an umbilical cord; without fluid to float in, a baby may sit on the cord and cut off its own blood supply.

Oligohydramnios can be the sign of more serious problems, such as a baby with kidney disease. A large part of the amniotic fluid is comprised of baby's urine and if low levels are not caused by a membrane leak, it means not enough amniotic fluid is being manufactured by the baby's kidneys or that it is not being released by the bladder and urethra.

It could be that baby is not making much fluid or there is an obstruction in the urinary tract.

Once oligohydramnios is diagnosed, decisions about the baby's delivery need to be made. Often, this means weighing the risks of inducing labor versus leaving the baby in-utero until it reaches greater maturity.  Typically, if a baby has too little fluid near term, it is reasonable to consider that baby will do okay if born.  That means waiting until 37 weeks. For others, it can mean delivering as early as 34 weeks.

According to the American Journal of Obstetrics, pregnant women who find themselves diagnosed with oligohydramnios should pay particular attention to eating a balanced diet and receiving regular prenatal care.

So get better than average, or upgraded care and keep your emotions steady and focused.  All the best.

  3. drink lots of water!!   i know its hard to do sometimes...but it will help out

  4. I was low earlier in my pregnancy. Drink lots and lots and lots of water. I was at 7cm of amniotic fluid, started drinking at least 64ozs of water a day (that's 8, 8oz glasses, the reccommended daily amount) and was up to 14 ozs of fluid at my next ultrasound 4 wks later.  Amniotic fluid is mostly comprised of the baby's urine. The more Mommy drinks, the more baby pees! Good luck, Mommy!

  5. as of now the best thing is to stay off your feet and drinks lots of fluids, such as gatorade, that is known to replace fluids and electrolytes, there is also some sugar in there( the baby actually needs some glucose) and just take it easy, i am not sure about the whole swimming thing just because if your water would break you wouldnt be able to tell and your risk of infection would go up. Hang in there your not too far off!! GOD BLESS!!!

  6. Well since you only have a few weeks left I would say to take it easy. What did your doctor say?

  7. NOTHING.....they will induce you if baby is in danger.  Good luck!

  8. This happened to my sister's sister-in-law and they pumped her full of some other fluid to keep the baby inside.
