  1. I DON'T NO!!!!

    GOOG LUCK =(

  2. Perhaps you are being fed information that means nothing!    The important part is how well your charging system works, -- and how cold the weather gets where you live!  Improper charging rate causes even 600 amp batterys to go bad very pre-maturely! Severe overcharging causes warping of of plates inside battery,- which causes failure.   While undercharging, causes sulphation inside battery as well as poor cranking of engine when starting!

Extremely cold weather  can  cause  a "marginal capacity" battery to be unable to start "cold engne"-- First of all when it gets down below -20, the oil gets thick like molasses, which makes engine hard to turn over, - next thing is that "unleaded gas" is very hard to ignite at these tempreatures, so it requieres much longer cranking sessions to get it going!.... Worst of all the colder a battery gets, the more inefficient it becomes due to loss of cranking power!  So if in Wisconsin, I would want to  have the biggest possible battery that could be fitted in battery tray!  In fact in 60s and 70s when I lived there, I had two batterys in car for winter use,  -- back then they left enough room inside engine compatement to do so! Two batterys hooked in parallel, is sort of like having a built in "jumper cable boost" for car every time you start up!   When it was -40, I could start mine and go around and boost (or tow) all the neighbors cars on close farms, and get their stuff going too! nobody laughed and pointed at my 20 year old cars that time of year!!  Seemingly an old car that ran was better than  a new one that didn't!

Now back to Florida, -- heat is your friend not your enemy in starting cars!  Now overheating possibilities are another thing, but not related to battery size! Personally I would run it til it "drops", -- then when replaceing, - I would get largest battery,-  both amp capacity and case size that will fit in car!  (I usualy get tmy repllacements at Wal-Mart, their batterys are not the best but their gurantee  is), - and they are everywhere so that when your "under warranty" battery "croaks" you have no trouble getting new one put in!

Now you notice I said batrery size, but also battery capacity in amps! If you look carefuly at batterys, you will see for instance that a 400 amp battery has a number of different battery post arrangements, as well as battery case sizes, some are taller, some are wider, and some are longer!  Every one however is rated at the same "cranking capacity"-- (400 amps in this case)!  now the one that has the biggest volume of "liquid capacity - will crank longer at the at ampreage, as the chemical change in acid inside that makes battery put forth the "power", so less fluid will loose capacity to "supply" slower than more liquid will!  Or more simply put the size of internal parts of battery are the same, but the the amount of liquid (sulpheric acid - on most batterys) is different! --In my case I consider capacity that I can afford, (as price more controlled by capacity- than physical size), -- then buy one with biggest physical size, - and battery post arrangemnent, and use that!  If battery seems to be a "little short", -- don't buy new batery first,-- take and have charging system checked for proper charge rate!  Battery could be good,- but if not charging up to specs, it obviulsly will not perform too good!  Millions of batterys end up in scrap this way annually, when alternator or somethiing else (cheap even)_ may be wrong, -- by time they have charging system working right,- they could have spent a thousand or more, -- when possibly all it needed was a dollar fuse!

Bottom line, - if it starts car ok, don't worry about it till replacement time comes!

  3. 340 - 360 should be plenty for a 4 cylinder. I think they are just trying to sell you a new battery.

  4. depends on your climate they can hang on for awhile if your where it isn't too cold.
