  1. No.  Low carb diets are actually beneficial to the digestive system and will prevent diabetes from developing in susceptible people.

    It is the consumption of great quantities of sugar that could lead to diabetes, for two reasons.  First, it causes weight to increase by accumulation of fat.  Second, it conditions the pancreas and other glands to expect high calorie processing, which has been shown to result in damage to, or partial or complete failure of, those glands by the age of 40 years.

    The only danger in a low carb diet is the tendency to consume too much fat in meat and dairy produce, which may be laid down as plaque in blood vessels.  The secret is to raise consumption of fruit and green vegetables, to keep you feeling full and maintain a healthy intake of vitamins and minerals.
