"Low cost" & "cool weekend place" - both these things do not agree with each other. Particularly so if you wish to be nearby Mumbai.

Cbeach Resorts is a cool place. It is near Arnala sea shore. Take any Virar bound suburban local. It is one hour travel from Dadar. Get down at Virar, take an autorick or a bus for Arnala. Distance is abt 12 kms. The resort has got lots of green spaces and nice accomodation options. Food is excellent. Beach is nearby. People are good.
