Low dosage of steroids in medicine is it bad?

I'm wondering if I use some medicine that has steriods in it will it be bad? the doctor said it has low dosage, I'm wondering will it affect me having babies or do you have to take high dosage?

  1. It depends first of all on WHY he has recommended this.  I'm assuming corticosteroids, like prednisone, not anabolic steroids like Barry Bonds used.

    Steroids are safe and effective when used properly.  People are justifiably concerned about long term effects, which is why they are only available by prescription from someone trained in their use.

  2. There are an awful lot of medication which contain different types of steroids. I do not know the side effects for each individual one, but the most commonly used in the uk are asthma inhalers. These have not caused any damage to unborn babies.

    There are also steroid creams which do not cause damage to unborn babies.

    However, steroids in high doses can effect pregnancy. You need to check the side effects for each individual one or speak to a pharmacist
