looking for a one bed room low encome apartment for senior citizen in my area.

  1. What area are you in?  You can contact your local housing authority to see if you can get in or on a waiting list for a Section 8 housing voucher.  If they have a waiting list, I would suggest that you ask them if their are apartment communities who offer Section 8 housing in your area as well.  At those communities you don't have to have a voucher, and usually the waiting lists are a lot shorter if there is a waiting list at all.

    Depending on what happens with that, I would also ask them if there are places in your area that offer affordable or Section 42 housing.  At these communities you will have to pay a little bit more in rent, but it is somewhat still based on your income and a lot lower than conventional housing.  Good luck!
