Low grade fever of 96.8 degrees farenheit?

I've felt a little off all day today. Body aches and a little head ache. My hands were really hot and I thought I had a fever only to find out that my temperature is very low.. What can that be. My normal body temperature is 98.6

If your name is Nina, then I'm guessing you are a woman.

96.8 is not a 'low grade fever' - it is just a normal body temperature.  My temperature has been even lower than that before - it is nothing to be alarmed about.

The fact that you are a woman means that over the course of your cycles, you temperature will be different after ovulation than before.  Before ovulation and right before your period starts - your temps will be low.  Right after ovulation, they will be high(er).

If you have a headache and a backache and your temps are low, I'm guessing you will be starting your period soon.

Fever means a higher than normal temperature. What you are experiencing is the chills. You're probably going to die.

A low grade fever is defined as one over 98.6 but below 101.0.  Ditto the cyclical temperature idea.  Bundle up and take it again tomorrow.
