The German national team manager has showered praise on the Bavarian giants for their impressive performances in Europe this season.
Bayern have had a rather unlucky season this term as they have been unable to win any trophies. The Bavarians ended the league in second place behind Borussia Dortmund and lost the German Cup final against the same opposition.
Jupp Heynckes’ side also reached the final of the UEFA Champions League final but failed to win again as Chelsea recorded their first ever European title triumph.
Low claimed that although Bayern lost the final, they still have had a great season in Europe. He insisted that it is a huge achievement to reach the final of the Champions League and being amongst the best two in Europe.
The tactician admitted that the Reds were the better side throughout the course of the game and were rather unlucky not to secure a win. He added that the players missed a host of chances in what could have been a huge victory
for their side.
“Despite this defeat, let me congratulate Bayern on a top-class Champions League campaign. Bayern have given us some fantastic matches, especially against Madrid. They were the better team against Chelsea for 120 minutes and had
the better chances. Football can be brutal sometimes,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, DFB President Wolfgang Niersbach expressed his disappointment on the defeat and insisted that justice has not been served. He stressed that Bayern was clearly the better side but http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 had the luck and went
on to win the game.
“There's no justice in football. What's happened here is unbelievable. I'm still speechless after this match. How are we supposed to look to the future? We look back instead, and it hurts,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich have once against failed to win a single trophy this season. The team has reached two finals and have ended up as runner-up in the league. The results are similar to last season when the Bavarians failed to secure
silverware as they reached the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League and ended third in the league.
