German national team manager Joachim Low has been named ‘Man of the Year’ by the Kicker Magazine for his achievements with Die Mannschaft in 2011.
Joachim Low was given the prestigious accolade for his sensational year with the national side, which qualified for the European Championships with a perfect record. The team has definitely had an amazing year under Low and the manager has made sure that Germany finishes the term being one of the best teams in Europe.
The German sports magazine claimed that the manager has given shape to a team that can compete at any level and that has the capability to challenge for honours at the highest stage. It further stated that Low has introduced the amazing combination of attacking football in the German game which has gained recognition worldwide.
The magazine insisted that Joachim Low has been able “to form a national team with many gifted talents. With a heart-warming combination of offensive football, he excited the home fans and captured the world's respect and recognition.”
Die Mannschaft manager expressed his delight on winning the award and admitted that he is pleased. The tactician dedicated the accolade to his team and insisted that this is the reward for all the hard work they have been doing for the past year. He stated that he is proud of the team’s performance and is confident that Germany will go far in the European Championships next year.
“I am pleased. I regard it as a prize for the team, I'm proud of their performance,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
