Low or No Sodium Recipes for my Mom?

Please! If you have anything it would really help! Were down to eating Fish and Rice and Veggies! Do you know anything else that can help?

  1. There are a number of salt substitutes available, Mrs. Dash being the one that comes to mind.  

    We went through similar drama when my Dad was placed on a salt restricted diet.  He was sure he would never eat again.  But I played around with other spices and herbs and found I didn't need to add salt to anything but the water when preparing pasta, rice or potatoes.

    If she absolutely must have her salt, you can reduce the amount most recipes call for by at least half and never notice.

    It is many years since I started salt free cooking and my whole family has become used to it.  We often find commercially prepared foods too salty.
