  1. I have heard of this before and from what I understand it is fairly common. Your doctor will have to monitor carefully and they may put you on supplements.  But, I don't think you need to be worried.  Good luck and congratulations on your impending birth!!

  2. If by low platelets you mean low iron level, I have the same thing too but my midwife had given me sachets upon sachets of Iron tablets as well as recommended good iron boosting foods. You might want to ask yours for the same thing. Seems mine had increased bit since I started taking the tablets.

  3. hi htere it depends on the levels i was 10.8 last time and borderline but just need extra iron, i suggest you eat iron rich foods to help, i eat bran flakes and spinach beans red meat etc..oh gosh not together..lol..

if you become severly aneamic you will be offered a blood transfusion, if i was you i would deal with it now b eating the right foods, if having spinach i like it raw and squeeze lemon juice on it..i hate needles too adn if you really want you can refuse any tests that are offered. if you end up taking iron tablets they take a month to be absorbed into the body and you also need to increase your vitamin c intake as this is what is needed to absorb the iron..

  4. i had very low iron levels when i have my eldest child.. and i had to have a blood transfusion..

i am terrified of needles and it took the hospital 3 days to persude me enough that i needed one.. i was really poorly;..

having the transfusion was a werid experience but a good one.. they gave it to me cold.. so my whole body when really cold until i warmed up... but i felt like a new person and so full of energy it was great..
