Question:

Low stakes blackjack in Vegas?

Are there any casinos on the strip that still have blackjack tables with bets starting at $5 (or lower)? I heard recently that it's almost impossible to find a table with a minimum bet under $10.

Thanks!

  1. It depends where you go, and when you go.  At busy weekends, you are going to find it hard to get a $5 table.  But in the week you might.

Just head for the cheaper casinos.  Obviously, the more expensive the hotel, the less likely you are to see it.  The Wynn and Bellagio are not interested in offering $5 blackjack.

All that said, quite honestly, if you don't have enough to play $10 blackjack, I question if you should be gambling at all.

  2. I haven't been to Vegas since 2004, and there was some tables at $5.00 at that time. There are $2.00 - $3.00 tables from time to time at Stateline at the 3 casinos there (as of late 2007). Try Laughlin. I stay at the Edgewater and Colorado Belle. In September 2007 I was there last, and found plenty of $3.00 tables. If you've never been to Laughlin, it is a downscaled version of Vegas but with the River. Alot of fun! I never go to Vegas anymore because of Laughlin. About 12-15 Casinos are available, plenty of water sports and some night clubs. Good luck.

  3. Go downtown.  You will probably find some casinos that will offer $5 blackjack, if you can get on the table.  Try the Las Vegas Club.  It is absolutely horrible, but offers $5 blackjack.

  4. there are a few on the outskirts that still have 1.00 tables. and i think the sahara still has 1.00 tables till 4? if you really want the odds more in your favor, go to the casinos off the strip. same games, just not all the glitz and lights.

  5. Five dollar minimums are in a good many casinos, but let me ask this...why would you want that? In black  jack  all the players are playing against the dealer/house.  One player who doesn't understand how to play black jack by the book can s***w up everyone at the table (hitting with 6 showing and they have 14 is an example...known as taking the bust card another is splitting 10s).  Low limit tables attract tourists and others that just don't understand the game.  I found that by playing 25 dollar tables the play is a whole lot better and my winnings are generally much higher.  Not only because of the higher bets, but most importantly, generally people know what they are doing on the higher limit tables.

  6. I played at Bally's for $5 a hand at blackjack.  It was during he week and in the morning.

  7. The Imperial Palace right in the heart of the Strip still has $5.00 blackjack most anytime of the day (at least they did when I was there in October).  They usually have several of their other games (3 card poker, pai gow, etc.) at $5.00 as well, so there is lots of choice.  Also, like someone else suggested, some of the local hangouts downtown would have lower limit games as well (not the Nugget, etc.!)  Have fun!
