  1. Well, I'm no doctor but I do know as someone who also experiences back pain after I play because i'm so tall (6' 3"), I know that if you don't stretch before playing you're setting yourself up for back pain. I usually stretch by reaching straight out with my arms and bending over and trying to touch my shoes without bending my knees. It tends to help me, it stretches the lower back muscles.

I wouldn't rule out your back reacting to the wear and tear of basketball either. Maybe your back isn't that strong or at least your just playing too much for it to take so it hurts.

  2. just take tylenol everytime it attacks you

  3. rest often and keep your back straight.

  4. Wow I had this same problem my doctor diagnosed it as a Lumbar Strain that wus supposed to away after a week but lasted like 3 months... To fix it I started doing squats on a machine not with free weights, I guess the strengthening really helped it...and drinking protein shakes with milk (protein helps to repair your bones) so that should really help... Also, if you're want a quick relief, lay on your back, then like bring your legs over your head til your feet touch the ground...thats a basketball stretch its easy to do and if you hold it for a while, it may hurt a little at first, but when u get back up you wont even feel it...
