Question:

Lower airfare after I purchased?

Earlier this month, I booked a flight on Continental.com for $400.

Now the price is at $360.

However, the ticket is non refundable.

Is there any way I can discount my ticket or get some money back?

  1. If you contact the airline, they may refund the difference or save it as a future credit. Most airlines don't advertise this, because they want to hold onto the funds.

  2. did you ask this question a few days ago? it looks identical to the one that was asked.

my answer: nope.  they won't do anything because every airline lowers their prices closer to departure dates.  It doesn't matter if it's refundable or not, you're out of luck there. sorry to say.

  3. I have had that happen to me before with southwest and I called customer service and they refunded the difference as long as there were still seats available at the lower price.  I'm not sure if all airlines would do this but it never hurts to ask.
