  1. as a macclesfield town fan

we have experienced the same troubles as the lincoln city answer above

and also due to a massive *UNFAIR* fine that was helped to be payed by chelsea and ex premirship stars

and also more or less every club in the football league and the premiership so no probably some lower leagues could not survive without help from the premiership but others could it just depends on circumstance

  2. no it wouldnt survive without the sponsorships the league puts into the lower grades, not to mention there needs to be the forum for players to grow and blossom in leagues apart from the top flight...

  3. i am a life long supporter of lincoln city fc.. i have seen my team close to extinction, after the ITV digital farce, and it still gripes me how squads in the premiership pay vast amounts of money for 2nd rate foreign imports instead of using the lower leagues as a filter system... the lower teams rely on this system for income but it's rapidly dying...

my club survives on giving players short contracts and using alot of loan players..

come on the imps promotion this year please not another play off disaster

  4. Good question.  Often the Scouts are seen at lower league games trying to spot talent that may have been missed elsewhere. Conversely, players who have been in top line football get the opportunity to 'wind down' in the less fierce leagues.

There is also the funding to be considered, but that is a very contentious issue.
