Every time i have had a run, if can feel this kind of stitch coming on. I am extremely fit for my age so it can't be to do with fitness.

I went for a training yesterday -(10 x 400m) and i got the pain near the end of the training it was fine until the last one.

Today i got up and have bad pain on the low (my right) tummy pain and it hurts when i press it more.

Please help me, what could it be?

By the way: i have never really experienced stitches before and i haven't changed my breathing style but i have had an injury (shin splints)

It hurts when i breathe in but not that bad.

  1. I had this, and they looked mainly at my appendix and also my ovaries. go to your doctor and they will probably send you for an ultrasound scan.

It eventually came back as being ovarian cysts

  2. How long do you have this pain?

    Do you have constipation?

Do you drink enough water as an athelete?

Are you emptied-stomach when you run?

It might be appendicitis. If your pain is not reducing, go and see doctor. He/she will examine you and then do ultrasound abdomen for you.

  3. It could be your appendix see your doctor or go to your local hospital to get it checked asap.

  4. Are you running before you've eaten breakfast?  Try some toast with low sugar jam or oatmeal about an hour before you run and see if that helps.

  5. Could be your appendix or if anything pops out at all it could be a hernia.

    Go see your GP

  6. Your cecum (where large intestine joins small) may be congested with waste so you could try a colonic.  Alternatively could be grumbling appendix so best go and see your gp.
