  1. What for?

Drag racing or just street / track riding?

If its drag, then sell the 600 and get a busa!

If its for street / track, leave the back height alone and just lower the forks through the yokes a max of 10mm.

Do this move at 5mm to start with and take a ride on a circuit / road you know really well. You will be amazed at the turn in difference that just 5 mm with give you. The reason not to go any further then 10mm is on full brakes you will tap the front fender (mudguard) and the fairing. This is not good.

Also to note, if you get to the full 10mm and still want a lower front, leave the forks and go to the rear, with a rising rate linkage kit, this will change the bike weight bias a lot so be care full how you use it.

If all that fails use a thicker seat pad! Simple but affective.

Hope that is some help to you.

  2. Lowering a bike ruins the handling. In fact a slight lift to the rear of a stock bike enhances the handling, or as the above post states lowering the front has similar benefits with the negative of less ground clearance.
