  1. Open programs are not always the case... If you open task managers again, instead of going to application open... go to the processes. This is where your pc tells you what is taking up all the room on your RAM and or CPU

Pretty much the only way to free up your RAM is to limit the amount of start up processes and/or make your pc allocate some space from your hard drive to act like more RAM (Paging) By no means am I an expert but this is what I have learned when I was trying to lower my RAM usage also. Best of luck

  3. Awesome question.  Goes to show how dumb the auto category selector is for Yahoo! Answers.  Probably should be in the computer section versus the Dodge Car/Truck section.

But if you want to lower your Dodge Ram usage, try public transportation.

  4. Open task manager and go to PROCESSES. There you will find that you have a shitload of things running--most of which you can close without any real problems other than the program closing. In Vista I think it even tells you what program the .exe files are for so you will be able to avoid closing like your IE (use firefox, it pwns IE) or firewall or explorer.exe or whatever. Also, you can always add RAM to your computer.

If the control alt delete thing is too hard for you, just look at the icons next to your clock on the task bar. Right click the ones you don't want running and tell them to exit.

Also, switch back to XP, it runs faster--there is no reason to use Vista.
