Question:

Lowering my cable/internet bill?

I was wondering if doing something like this would work....what if I cancel my cable service (I have Comcast in Northern California btw) and then I have my mom, brother, or friend sign up instead, then they can get the introductory rates again. I suppose there is a chance this wouldn't work because my mom and I have the same last name, and the same first initial. I'm getting screwed over, it is just too expensive since my 1 year introductory rates went up. Would I need to repay installation fees or anything? Is there any way to avoid that?

Has anyone every done this or heard of someone else doing it? Do you think it would work? Thanks!

  1. my roommates and i were dealing with that too. something you could consider doing is switching to another cable internet service in the area. that is what we did. if you don't want to switch you could make the threat that you are going to because the price is too high. Call Comcast and ask them if they can give you a better price, if not ask for a manager and see if they will do it. If no one will budge then switch. they are not the only game in town. We ended up switching cause our Internet connection was very poor quaility. Good Luck.
