Lowering springs or Coilovers??

Okay.. So I bought some Coilovers for my car not knowing how f**king EXPENSIVE it would be just to have them installed!

My cousin who knows lots about cars and has installed lowering kits in t he past told me that it's alot harder to install coilovers than it is to install lowering springs.

So if I were to take it to a professional shop.. would it be CHEAPER to have lowering springs installed??

They wanted to charge me $200 to have the coilovers installed.

How much should I be expecting to spend on having LOWERING SPRINGS installed???

  1. It's almost about the same, due to the fact that they will have to remove the same stock springs in both procedures.

  2. You think $200 is expensive to have coilovers installed?   That's dirt cheap.

Coilovers are however a complete waste on a street driven car.  The reason they were invented was to allow corner-weight adjustments on road racing cars to suit individual track requirements - quite irrelevant on a street driven vehicle.

  3. Dude theres no way there going to charge you that much...go to another shop...try walmart.....if all else fells do it your self....buy sompipe wrenchs and the tools you need at walmart then take them back...so you could pretty much do it your self for free....but be safe ...changing the coil over is dangerous and could kill you if your dumb so look it up on google and learn how to do it yourself
