Lowering the water level in a toilet

I adjusted the float in the tank but the water level in the bowl is still to high. Is there any way to lower it?

  1. lowering the tank water is one thing, but you can not lower the water hight in the bowel. you see, the bowel has a water trap and this is what determins the height of the water.


  2. You can lower the water level in the tank to use less water per flush, BUT, it will not change the water level that remains in the bowl after a flush.  That is set by the height of the 'S' curve built into it at the factory.

  3. some people fill a plastic jug with water..cap it and put in the tank..helps you use less water

  4. These other guys are right, the level in the bowl is not adjustable but if it is now higher than usual you have a partial blockage in the trap.    

  5. Well lowering the float is the trick maybe not enough or correctly, there is a s***w/bolt at the backside of the float arm tighten it that should do the trick.
