Loyalty heads the entries for the Get Your Bet On At Blue Square Handicap on 18th February
The Class 2 Get Your Bet On At Blue Square Handicap is to be raced over a mile by twelve runners at Lingfield. The race offers a lucrative purse of £10, 350 to the winner.
Loyalty, Medicean’s five-year-old bay gelding out of mare Ecoutila, is racing his seasonal debut today and has maintained his performance through his last three starts during which his ranking has not gone down the second position and he has posted two victories too.
Loyalty won the Totequadpot Conditions Stakes on 2nd December at Wolverhampton. The five-year-old put the 9/4 favourite of the race, Blue Moon into a tight spot which made him finish the race third, within the realms of a decent finish.
On 10th December, he was second in the Totetrifecta Handicap at Wolverhampton which was won by Mia’s Boy. On the field of ten, the 7/2 favourite of the race, Mull Of Killough, finished fifth.
Loyalty’s final start of the year was in Betfred Double Delight Conditions Stakes on 17th December at Lingfield, which he won. Clockmaker, who was the 7/2 favourite of the race, finished third after the winner on a track set for ten to race.
Only if he had won the race on 10th December then he would have qualified for a hat trick. Today’s start would allow him to attach victory strings to the previous season’s closing race or not, is still to be seen.
Chilli Green, Desert Sun’s five-year-old bay mare out of mare Jade Pet, recently posted her seasonal debut victory. She won the Skysports.Com Handicap on 15th February at Kempton. She was the 7/2 favourite for the race on a field of ten contesting.
Chilli Green’s seasonal debut in the Forest Row Handicap on 7th January at Lingfield, had her settled in the fifth position while the 9/2 favourite of the race, Titan Triumph was fourth. The race was won by Marajaa.
She has the potential of standing out to be a favourite in the race yet again.
Loyalty and Mia’s Boy have raced before and will encounter one another in today’s race yet again. How will those two perform and how will they blend in with Chilli Green while racing today, will surface soon.
