Question:

Lsat Prep question..?

Can someone compare Blackstone prep to Kaplan prep for the LSAT? I am trying to see if one will truly offer me something better then the other. And please do not pick on just because it is the only one you have heard of or because you took it. I would like someone to tell me with a neutral opinion.

  1. Sorry, I can't make a direct comparison between the two, but only because I've never heard of Blackstone. I'm much more a PowerScore fan than a Kaplan fan, but I do know from my own prep that these questions should help you decide:

    1. Who is teaching the course, and how well did they score on the LSAT? Don't let them quote vague stats--find out who exactly is teaching your class because it makes a huge difference.

    2. How many hours are in the course? Are they all live? How many are practice test hours?

    3. Does the class use real LSAT questions? Do you get every LSAT question that is available from Law Services (you should, otherwise you will end up buying them on your own). Also, some classes (and a lot of books) use fake questions, and obviously, that is not good.

    4. What kind of online site do they have for students? What is on there? Can you score tests? Work on your weak areas? Do extra quizzes? Learn about additional LSAT stuff?

    5. How do you get help outside of class? Can you talk to an instructor directly? Are all the questions in the lessons and home works explained for you?

    6. Price. This one is obvious, I guess.

If you ask the questions above, you should get a good picture of who you think is best. In any case, ask for as much info as you can--it's your future.
