so i bought this lt1 from a guy (don't worry, i got a steal) and he claimed it was 4 bolt. he was gona use it in a high hp application. however, it wasn't out of a vette. me being the quasi engine savy guy i am attempted to correct him and let him know it was 2 bolt. he said it was from a pontiac that was a "high performance edition" w/ no govenors and rated @ 350hp and 4 bolt. all i could think of was a firehawk, but i doubt that was what he was talking about, cuz who would take the engine out of a car they only made 23 of! is he bsing me or am i wrong? thanx:)

  1. I think you already know, but want some reassurance. lol was smoke coming up thu you drawers?

  2. How old is the engine? The first LT1 350s were made in '70-'71. They were used in Corvettes and Camaros, rated at 350 hp. for the Camaro and 360 hp. in the 'Vette and yes, they had 4 bolt mains.

Either way, if you really got all that stuff for $450, you did get a deal.

  3. 2 bolt and the only  speed limited engine out of the factory was police cars . Pull the numbers of the block it will tell you all. Normally the 350 is the torque rating on the common engine not horse power rating,
