Lu Haotian trounces Zhu Yinghui to claim 2012 World Under-21 Snooker Championship
World Under-21 Snooker Championship 2012 finished successfully at the Huaxia Material Port mall in Wuxi featuring the young Chinese potter Lu Haotian as the new champion.
The youngster played outstandingly throughout the tournament and showed some great snooker skills which helped him reach the final encounter of the clash where he was up against compatriot Zhu Yinghui, defeating him by the score line of 9-6.
The final clash was expected to be another tough game as both potters were in terrific form from the start of the event. Both came a long way through tussling games in the initial and final stages of the mega event. The final game of 2012 World Under-21
Snooker Championship went the way it was predicted as both potters played neck-and-neck in the first session of the match with the ambition to grab an early lead.
The match up began with a tussling first frame where both potters played sensibly trying to clinch early lead. Haotian was confident of clinching the first frame but he could score 65 points only while his opponent swept the table with classy 81 points and
claimed 0-1 lead. However, the young Haotian came back strong in the second session and pulled level at 1-1 after winning the second frame 61-15.
Yinghui did not accept it easily and played at his best in the third frame to win it by the score line of 56-08 to move one frame up at 2-1. Haotian played his safety game in the fourth frame which helped him finish the set in his favour at 66-28. With his
fourth frame win, the score again equalised at 2-2.
The next two frames were again shared between the two as they jumped at 3-3 level. After that, it was all Haotian show in the first session as he cruised into two-frame win to grab two-frame lead at 5-3 at the end of the first session.
Yinghui was under immense pressure due to Haotian’s lead in the match but still he managed to get back into the game and claimed two set victories by the score line of 65-34 and 75-60 to level the game at 5-5. After that Yinghui could win only one frame
while Haotian cleared the table in no time to breeze into four-frame victories which brought him the title of 2012 World Under-21 Snooker Championship.
