The 19-year-old striker arrived at De Grolsch Veste last month after a disappointing one-year stint at Inter Milan, where he failed to enjoy regular playing time. The youngster managed to represent the Nerazzurri in only six Serie
A matches throughout the 2011/12 season.
Following his lack of playing time, the youngster expressed his desire to leave the Italian giants before the start of the 2012/13 campaign. Reports indicate that a number of European clubs were taking keen interest in acquiring
his services, but the Dutchman opted to join the Tukkers.
“I opted for the security to be able to play again. I've always learned: when you have a chance, you should seize with both hands”, Castaignos was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
The highly talented striker went on to insist that he will be playing for the Eredivisie title at De Grolsch Veste.
“At Inter, I trained and played with the best of Europe. With Twente, I play for the championship”, Castaignos added.
The Dutchman also stressed that the Serie A giants did not have confidence in his abilities, which forced him to leave the club at the earliest.
“Eventually I noticed that Inter do not have much confidence in me. Then it is very simple, you should go somewhere else for your chance”, Castaignos concluded
The promising young hit-man, who started his professional career at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam in the 2009/10 season, netted 15 goals while donning the jersey of the Rotterdammers in 37 league matches before joining Inter in the summer
of 2011.
Castaignos has reportedly put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at De Grolsch Veste until the end of the 2015/16 season.
