A.C Milan left-back, Luca Antonini, is surprised and also impressed with his team’s big margin win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in the UEFA Champions League.
Milan stunned the Gunners by 4-0 in first of the two-legged last 16 round game at San Siro on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Prince-Boateng-c20792 scored the other goals.
Antonini, who started the game ahead of Djamel Mesbah, is surprised with the margin of the victory, and insists that he was expecting a close battle. The full-back has insisted that his team prepared extremely well for the game, and they deserved to win.
The defender believes that there was a balance between all departments of Milan’s game, and they ruled over Arsene Wenger’s side.
While talking to the reporters, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luca-Antonini-c22503 said,
“I didn’t expect such as big result, but for how we prepared for the game, we knew that we could get a result. We did well to play high up the field and not to let them play. The whole team did well.”
When asked about Juventus’ league draw against Parma before Milan’s triumph over Arsenal, Antonini was not much excited about it. The experienced defender stated that he is only focusing on his own team’s performances and not that of the competitors.
The 29-year-old has urged his team to put the Arsenal game on their backs and concentrate on their league game against A.C Cesena at the weekend.
“We’re not so interested in Juventus’ game (with Parma), we were focused on the Champions League and now we’ll turn to the league. We have to go one game at a time. Cesena are a tough team at home and we’ll have to be good to get ahead as we’ve played a lot lately.” added the former Empoli star
