The Brazilian International, who held a key position in the Reds midfield, was hit by an anterior cruciate ligament injury back in November, 2011. It ruled him out for almost seven months, before he completed his convalescence process in August.
However, after making a return to the professional circuitry, the 25-year old picked up a thigh injury, only in his second Premier League game of the season.
Consequently, his medical team barred him from playing for up to three months, causing further frustration and disappointment for the player.
Lucas, who was signed by Liverpool in July 2007 for an estimated transfer fee of 5 million pounds, has capped 186 appearances for the Merseyside team. During this period, he notched up 6 goals.
Speaking to the reporters during an interview, the inventive schemer unravelled his disappointment over being on the sidelines.
He viewed the year 2012 as the worst in his life, and revealed that he cannot wait to get back to action.

The boss at Anfield, Brendan Rodgers, is known to be a huge admirer of the Brazilian footballer, and had earlier revealed that he will look to build his team around him.
Liverpool’s slow start to the campaign has been attributed by some to the absence of Lucas from the team.
Having not being marred by any major injury since the end of last year, the player admitted that picking up two in the space of 9 months was tough to take.
“Everything is a bit new to me because I have never had so many injuries. Two in a row is very complicated. We tried to stay positive when the first one happened, but the second one was much tougher as it happened so close to the other one,” he added.
The midfielder is expected to make a return to the squad late in November.
