Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers, has claimed that Lucas Leiva’s return to team’s fold will bring out the best from newcomer Joe Allen.
The Brazilian International is currently nursing a thigh injury which he sustained during the Reds league match against Manchester City in August.
Consequently, Allen, who arrived at Anfield from Swansea City for a 15 million pounds transfer fee during the summer, took the central stage in the team’s midfield, playing a pivotal role in Brendan Rodgers’ new operating model.
The Welsh footballer has already capped 13 appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 this season, and has been one of their prominent performers.
Rodgers feels that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528’ return to the team will bring out the best out of the 22-year old. He explained that the former Swansea City player has been, at times, tentative in his approach, but will be able to operate freely up the field in the presence of
the Brazilian footballer.
“I think you will see a different part of Joe's game,” he told the reporters.
“But you will see his flexibility in how he can play further up the field. He is really dynamic in that middle-to-final third and sometimes you see those little bursts when he breaks through and is exciting.”
Lucas, who also missed out a good portion of the previous term due to a ligament injury, is expected to make a comeback later this month.
The Anfield boss had earlier revealed that the inventive play-maker has started to exercise in the training sessions, but still require a couple of weeks to reach his maximum fitness.
Anyhow, the Ulsterman has also been made to handle a couple of other injuries to his players recently, with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Borini-c13163 taking knocks during last month’s international break.
Rodgers said that Reina will soon return to action. However, he praised the understudy goalkeeper, Brad Jones, for filling in the shoes of the Spaniard and making the most out of the opportunity that was presented to him.
“He has worked his way up to number two and shown what a number two is about: coming in and being solid for the games you are asked to play,” he added.
