The Ajax Amsterdam scout has revealed that Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund were also interested in signing the young Danish midfielder, but he opted to play under the leadership of Frank de Boer.

The talented Danish midfielder played close to 50 league matches while donning the jersey of AaB before joining the Amsterdammers. His consistent performances for the Danish top tier outfit garnered him interest from several European
clubs including the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Borussia Dortmund.
However, the youngster opted to play under the leadership of Frank de Boer, who has guided the Amsterdam giants to two back-to-back Eredivisie titles since taking over the managerial hot seat in December 2010.
The Amsterdammers scout confirmed that the Danish U-19 star had several clubs to choose from, but he decided to develop his skills further while wearing De Joden colours.
“Several European clubs were interested in Lucas. Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund were reportedly interested in signing him. But he consciously decided to join Ajax for his better development. He had heard a lot of stories from
Viktor Fischer, with whom he has played for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 at junior level on a number of occasions”, Olsen was quoted as saying to the Dutch media.
The Ajax scout went on to reveal that he was following the youngster for the past three years, while insisting that he is a technically gifted player.
“I had been following http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528 for the past three years. He is a talent with very good technique, speed and a good footballing head. He is mentally strong, and will certainly become the next big thing in Amsterdam”, Olsen concluded.
