The Amsterdammers sporting director, Marc Overmars, has confirmed that his side managed to acquire the services of the 17-year-old from the Danish side on the final day of the summer transfer window.
The promising youngster, who started his professional career debut at Nordjyske Arena last term, made close to 50 appearances while donning they jersey of AaB.
His consistent performances garnered him interest from a couple of English Premier League clubs including the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. However, the talented midfielder opted to join the Amsterdam giants to play under the leadership of Frank de Boer.
The former Ajax and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 legend, who was recently appointed as the Amsterdam-based club’s sporting director, has stressed that Andersen has a bright future ahead of him.
“The fact that Lucas has played so many matches in the Danish League at such a young age indicates that he is a great talent. He will join the first team after the internationals. I expect him to further develop in the senior side”, Overmars was quoted as

The Dutchman went on to express his delight at the youngster’s decision to join the 31-time Dutch champions in the recently concluded summer transfer window, while admitting that his side was a bit fortunate in landing his signature.
“He's a very interesting player for us because he's a versatile attacker who can even play in the No.10 position. So we are delighted that he has chosen to sign for Ajax because there was a lot of interest in him, including two English clubs. We are fortunate
