Lucas Glover in temporary lead at the Open Championship after 11 holes
The 140th edition of The Open Championship has stepped into the second round with Tom Levis and Thomas Bjorn in the lead. Here is a quick look at the leaderboard for the second day.
Lucas Glover currently holds the highest spot on the leaderboard after compiling a score of 66 in the first round, and par after the first eleven holes. The winner of Wells Fargo Championship and 2009 US Open, Glover picked two birdies
in the front against a loss of one bogey. He wrapped the front nine with a score of one-under-par and proceeded to the back to card one more bogey. The American has four more holes to play.
Pablo Larrazabal, who won this year's BMW International Open, sits on the ninth spot on the leaderboard. The Spaniard got off to a slow start, taking a more patient approach to the game, rather than attacking the holes. He saved par
at the first seven holes and looked quite content with the proceedings.
However, at the par-4 eighth hole, the player drove a tee shot onto the left side of the fairway and made his way to the green for the debut birdie of the day. Ideally, the player should have capped the front with a birdie, as the
hole bore resemblance with the preceding hole, but the player failed to achieve his earlier feat. He missed the par-putt while standing on the green and wrapped the front at par.
A similar strategy was adopted by the Spaniard at the back nine, where he birdied a single hole and missed a stroke on another to seal the day at par.
German ace Martin Kaymer stepped into the second round with a score of 68. He teed off from the front and sealed it at par after carding a single birdie against a lone bogey. The world number three has nine more holes to play, but
the way things are going, it will be difficult for the 26-year-old to turn the tables in his favour.
Jeff Overton has completed six holes with one birdie and one bogey. The American has twelve more holes to play.
