The young Brazilian admitted that he has had informal talks with Los Blancos and would like to move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the near future.
The Canarinha star admitted that his father and agent have recently met with Real Madrid, but downplayed the importance of the meeting. Real Madrid want to add the young midfielder to their ranks and the feeling seems to be mutual.
Lucas hailed Madrid as one of the giants in club football, a place where he sees himself in the future as it does not fit his immediate plans. The exciting midfielder stated that he is happy at the Morumbi and wants to continue his footballing development there.
"They are one of the biggest clubs in the world," http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paulo-c29431.”
"My father went to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 with my agent, who met the top directors, probably even Florentino Perez. There were some talks, but nothing official."
Responding to his future ambitions, the 13 time capped Brazilian remarked that he is hoping to impress at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Continuing on the subject, he stated that it is his dream to represent the Selecao in the World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 and winning it in front of his compatriots.
Despite the fact that there is time before the start of world football's extravaganza, he cannot take his mind off it.
“My dream now is the Olympics," Lucas commented. "But it's not the only one, because the greatest dream would be the World Cup. It's one of my objectives.”
"Certainly, the World Cup is far away, but I imagine myself playing in the jersey of the national team and becoming champions in our own country. I cannot stop thinking about it!"
While Lucas dreams of achieving greatness with the Brazilian national team, his future remains uncertain. Real Madrid have the upper hand in the race for his signature but their reluctance to sign him any time soon is a major fall back.
Jose Mourinho believes that the 19-year-old still has to go some distance before becoming a commodity to interest the Spanish giants.
