Lucayan looks to be in the most favourable position to seal a sterling success in the St James’ s Palace Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) (Entire Colts) contest that will take place at Ascot racecourse today, June 19. The action is scheduled to
start at 3:45 (GMT).
On the good to soft track of 1 mile, the F. Rohaut-trained bay colt will have to face 15 strong rivals with Power and Cogito at the top. The high-class race contains £167,295 in the prize purse.
Lucayan has never stepped out of the podium so far since debuting in December 2011. The three-year-old novice runner has won 3 of his total 5 starts, proving his class on different tracks against a number of worthy competitors.
After winning his maiden race convincingly, the young and energetic colt finished as a runner-up in the two subsequent starts during March 2012.
