Lucho Gonzalez determined to leave http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 this winter – Ligue 1 news
Reports in French media suggest that Argentine international Lucho Gonzalez is keen to leave current club Olympique de Marseille during the upcoming winter transfer window.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Arsenal keen on the midfielder.
However, Marseille’s stubborn stance on not lowering their asking price for the 30-year-old midfielder meant that Lucho was still a Marseille player before the start of the 2011/2012 Ligue 1 campaign.
After making a good start to the new campaign, Lucho Gonzalez has fallen down in the pecking order especially after current coach changed his formation. A new role as a substitute was not what the Argentine had in mind and clearly frustrated at not being
given a chance to show his willingness to adapt to the new style of play, Gonzalez is now looking to engineer a move out of the Rhone capital where his first season was a great success as Marseille won the Championelle.
His second season at the club was not a good one as Marseille failed to win a second consecutive Ligue 1 crown.
Agent Federico Simonian also confirmed that the player is now looking to end his misery at the Rhone club. “He wants to leave. He wants to play in the Champions League,” said Simonian.
Reportedly, the Argentine’s relation with coach Didier Deschamps has cooled as well which simply means that the player might never be given a lot of chances in Marseille colours.
Earning around 390,000 Euros per month, Gonzalez is one of the highest earners in Marseille along with defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ghana-c2905 international Andre Ayew. Marseille are still under a lot of financial stress so the club direction would also be
willing to let go of a player whose performances have gone down a notch due to lack of play time.
However, a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 or Malaga could possibly be ruled out as both clubs are no longer looking to pursue their interest in the playmaker after seeing his recent displays for Les Phoceens.
