Linked with a move away from the Velodrome since last summer, Olympique de Marseille midfielder Lucho Gonzalez has hinted that he would be open to a move to former club http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 if the Portuguese giants come up with a good offer
Since the beginning of the 2011 summer transfer window, Argentine international Lucho Gonzalez had been linked with a move away from Ligue 1 giants Olympique de Marseille.
Olympique de Marseille paid FC Porto almost 24 million Euros for the services of Lucho Gonzalez in the summer of 2009. In his first season with Les Phoceens, Gonzalez helped Didier Deschamps’ side to a Ligue 1 Championelle. However, things have changed since
then as the former Porto star has been inconsistent to say the least.
Last summer, he was linked with a move to La Liga side Malaga and Turkish giants Fenerbahce. However, any move failed to materialise as the two clubs were not keen on Marseille’s valuation of the player.
However, it now appears that Lucho Gonzalez does want to leave Stade Velodrome this winter. According to BloGolo, the Lusitanian leaders may already have contacted Lucho Gonzalez and the 31-year-old might have already accepted terms for a move to Estadio
do Dragao.
Gonzalez played for Porto between 2005 and 2009 and is still regarded with a lot of respect there. Reports claim that Porto are willing to bring the player back to the club on loan with an offer to buy him permanently for just 3.5 million Euros.
However, it still remains to be seen if the aforementioned offer could be enough to convince http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127’s hierarchy who are keen on getting some cash for the player.
Things might work out in favour of Gonzalez and Marseille though as Les Phoceens are keen on reducing the club’s payroll. Lucho Gonzalez, being one of the top earners at the club, is a player Marseille would want to offload.
Furthermore, club president Vincent Labrune has implemented an austerity plan at the club which means that in order to cut their losses, Les Phoceens could be tempted by Porto’s offer which would certainly be very helpful in terms of the Ligue 1 side’s finances.
