The 42-year-old Jamaican pugilist, Glen Johnson, recently lost his battle in the semi-finals of the Super Six World Classic Tournament against the Cobra, Carl Froch, letting the Brit to face the undefeated American warrior, Andre Ward, in a final unification
bout for the World Boxing Council’s, World Boxing Association’s and Ring Magazine’s title along with the Super Six trophy.
The undefeated Romanian-Canadian warrior, Lucian Bute, who has won all 29 of his professional fights, with 24 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, shared his thoughts with the media upon getting the confirmation date.
Bute, who is widely known as Mister KO, claimed his bout with Johnson is going to be an explosive fight. Bute has sparred with Johnson back in 2009 but the 31-year-old reckons he will surprise Johnson on the fight night, as he said he has become a completely
different fighter now.
He said, “I expect a very tough fight, said Bute. I know Glen, and he’s an aggressive fighter who will put relentless pressure on me. Everybody knows I sparred with him in 2009, but sparring and fighting are different. I become another person during a fight
and you can be sure I’ll have a few surprises for Glen.”
Johnson has won 51 of his 68 professional fights (2 draws), with 35 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. Therefore, Bute admitted Johnson is a very experienced boxer but on the same note Bute remarked his win over Johnson will engrave his name among
the elite boxers.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Glen’s a former world champion and he will be in a great shape. He fought hard against a lot of big names in boxing. This is a good challenge for me and beating Johnson is going to solidify my place among the elite
in the super-middleweight division.”
