Luciana Aymar is a legendary hockey star from Argentina and is definitely one of the best woman players of the world. During her decade long career, she is admitted as the ‘Best Player’ in as many as twelve international tournaments, which is more than any
other player in women’s hockey.
She is unmatched for her energy and speed, which is why no one is able to catch her pace.

Luciana Paula Aymar was born on August 10, 1977 in Rosario, city of Argentina. She plays as an attacker in the national field hockey team of Argentina and is the lone player to receive the International Hockey Federation player of the year award on six occasions.
Luciana is famed for her power to dodge opponent players with strong dribbling skills, due to which she is compared with the legendary Maradona, the soccer player of Argentina.
Aymar started playing at ‘Fisherton Club’, when she was only seven years old. After six years she moved to ‘Jockey Club De Rosario’ and also started training with the National Junior Squad. She along with the other team members acquired ‘Pan American Games
Junior Championship’.
Aymar made her international debut in 1998 and was part of the squad which stood at fourth position in the World Cup.
Luciana Aymar was part of the National Hockey Team, which acquired many international tournaments including ‘Pan American Games, Olympic Silver, five Champions Trophies and a World Cup.
Luciana Aymar is given a nickname of ‘La Maga’ (The Magician) due to this far-famed attacking player by one in all in women category. Her speed and vitality is matchless in the recent hockey.
The triumphs of Luciana Aymar have not only been on the local sods but she has had many international achievements to her name. Luciana is the solitary player to keep the record of holding the woman of the tournament awards in five Champions Trophies and
one World Cup.
Aymar is the lone player of the World, who acquired six times International Hockey Federation (FIH) ‘Best Player of the Year’ award in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 and also included in the nominees of this year. The legendary attacker of Argentina
women squad, Luciana Aymar is definitely the best field hockey woman in the World.
Luciana was part of the national women’s hockey team successes since 2000 and, which include a gold medal at the Pan American games 2007, a gold medal at the Champions Trophy 2008, gold medal at the Champions Trophy 2009, gold medal at the Champions Trophy
2010 and also gold medal at the World Cup 2010, to note a few.
Owing to rendering outstanding performance in the year of 2010, the name of Luciana is included in the ‘Best Player of the Year’ award and hopefully she will win this time too. She has already achieved player of the tournament award in Champions Trophy and
World Cup earlier this year. Aymar adds new colour to the field of hockey, as her records will stand for long in history.
