Lucie Safarova annihilates Klara Zakopalova in first round – Western & Southern Open 2011
Lucie Safarova outsmarted Klara Zakopalova in the first round of the Western and Southern Open 2011. The two Czech compatriots battled it out on the hard courts of the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. In just 59 minutes
the younger compatriot (Safarova) won the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
An exceptional performance in her first serve which enabled Safarova to win 67% of her service points, while, the elder Czech lost most of her service points due to a poor performance in the second serve as compared to the first
and hence, she was only able to bag 48% of her total service points.
Whilst, Zakopalova had a poor performance in her first return points and hence, was only able to bag a pitiable 33% of her total return points. The younger Czech had an exceptional performance on her second return points which
assisted her in achieving a 52% of her total return points.
Therefore, 24 year-old Safarova won the set with 17 more points than the elder Czech and accomplished a 60% win in the total set points, and hence, triumphing with a deftly 6-2 win.
Amidst the second set Zakopalova had struck one line fault, and smashed one ace, whereas, Safarova had a meticulous precision and struck zero double faults.
Taking a notch higher on her serve Safarova was able to win 79% in her first serve, had mustered a grand 64% win in her second serve, and thus, she was capable of winning an exceptional 72% in her total service points, while her
opponent was only able to attain 12 out of 21 points in her total service points, making it a 57% win in her total service points.
The difference between the return points of both the players was double; with Safarova attaining almost twice as many points as Zakopalova’s, Safarova won 43% of her total return points while, Zakopalova’s return points were 28%.
By winning hundred percent of break points, against the 29-year-old who was not able to save even a single break point and neither was she able to win any break points. Thus, she accomplishing fifty nine percent of her total service
points which aided Safarova to win the set, and also she restricted her opponent to only two games.
Standing at 1.77 meter, the left handed player Lucie Safarova has won 4 WTA titles in her career and USD 2,368,114 as prize money. Her year-to-date win loss record is such that she has won 25 matches and lost only 18.
