The Borussia Monchengladbach manager expressed his pleasure on the team’s performance but admitted that there is room for improvement.
The Foals drew 0-0 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 at the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday, February 4, and blew their chance of securing a second place finish on the standings table after Bayern Munich and Schalke also played draws in their respective fixtures.
Favre claimed that it was a good performance from the team and rued missed chances throughout the course of the match. He admitted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733 should have passed the ball on to Hanke rather than going for goal himself in the second-half. It was a great chance for the visitors and the goal would surely have secured a win for them.
The manager refused to blame Reus for the match and insisted that the striker did his best to score. He added that there were ample opportunities for his side but they were not converted as the finishing was not up to the mark.
“I can live with it. This 0-0 is definitely not a setback. I am pleased with the point. We can definitely play better and there was also a tight offside decision which went against us, but we have to live with that,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath opined that his team deserved to win in the fixture as they had the majority of the possession. He praised the opposition as one of the best in the league and admitted that a point is still a good result.
“We probably would have deserved to win. Nevertheless, I can live with the point. We were not up against any old side, they have the best defence in the league. In general, we are heading in the right direction,” he concluded.
Borussia Monchengladbach remain in fourth place on the Bundesliga standings table with 40 points from the 20 games played. The team will face third placed Schalke in next week’s fixture at home in a chance to climb the ladder. Both sides are separated with only one point on the table and a win for the hosts would take them to the third spot.
