The Foals’ manager will see out his contract at the Borussia Park after an impressive 2011/12 campaign where his side finished fourth in the league standings.
Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 in the final game of
the season. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Igor-de-Camargo-c16693 scored the other goal for the visitors.
Favre took charge of the Borussia-Park outfit last year when The Foals were fighting relegation and eventually ended up staying in the top division after winning the playoffs. Since then, Gladbach improved immensely and made rapid
inroads during the 2011/12 season.
Eberl told that Favre has agreed honouring his contract at the club and the authorities also wished him continuing his role. The former Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 tactician will run out of contract at the end of next season and could create
history by leading his side into the UEFA Champions League having waited for a number of years.
While talking to official club website, the Sporting Director further added: "Definitely, yes, since there is no other possibility. Lucien will definitely fulfil his contract until 2013."
While commenting on the arrival of Granit Xhaka and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luuk-de-Jong-c22956, Eberl stated that both the players are still on the radar and could possibly be signed during the summer transfer window. However, he admitted that there could be
problems signing players from their respective clubs because of the other top clubs interested in the duo.
"With Xhaka and De Jong, the problem is that a number of other clubs have them on their shortlist. That makes [negotiations] difficult and expensive. But their arrivals would be a huge statement of intent for Monchengladbach,"
Eberl added.
On the other hand, Eberl also praised his team’s efforts this season after the horrors of last campaign. He urged his players not to get complacent and continue playing impressive football irrespective of whether they qualify for
Europe or vice versa.
"We were the surprise team this season. I want to see more positive development. However, we will not be so crazy to say 'now we must play in the Champions League every year'. If the team plays good football, I would be happy even
with 9th place," the Sporting Director concluded.
The Foals finished this season on the fourth spot with 60 points, four points behind the third placed, Schalke.
