The Borussia Monchengladbach manager has expressed his anger after drawing at home against the capital club at the weekend.
Borussia Monchengladbach manager, Lucien Favre, has revealed that he is not entirely pleased with the result against Hertha Berlin. Gladbach played hosts to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 on Saturday, April 7, at the Borussia-Park with both sides failing
to score in the fixture.
Favre reckons that the Foals must have defeated one of this season’s relegation contenders especially while playing in front of the home fans. He laments wasting numerous scoring opportunities in both halves which has further hampered
the team’s chances of finishing in the top three.
However, the tactician showed his delight with the way his team has responded after the last season’s horror show. He mused that his players have performed well until now but expressed minor concerns at their recent slump in form.
While talking to official Bundesliga website, the manager claimed:
“I’m not happy. It was an okay performance. We had 70 per cent of the possession but we lacked accuracy with our final pass. We know where we've come from, but we've still managed to rack up 52 points. We knew it'd be difficult
until the end and we'll have to accept this result. “
On the other hand, Berlin manager, Otto Rehhagel also showed his displeasure at the 0-0 draw. He thought that his side did well to stop the hosts from scoring but should have made use of their chances especially on the counters.
“I'm not entirely happy. If you play in Gladbach and don't take your chances on the counter, it's not good. Still, the team showed they're willing to fight against relegation. We wanted to stay compact and probe them, but we only
managed to do so 80 per cent of the time,” Rehhagel concluded.
As a result of this draw, Berlin stay at the 17th spot, seven points clear of bottom placed FC Kaiserslautern. On the other hand, Monchengladbach are fourth in the league standings with 52 points, five adrift of third-placed
Schalke.
Berlin will next be up against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 while the Foals will take on Werder Bremen on Tuesday, April 10.
